Terms of service
These terms apply to every transport job booked with Load and Go Logistics (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2025/864432/07), trading as Load & Go Logistics, 4 Peter Road, Moret, Randburg, Gauteng, 2194 ("we", "us"). "You" means the person or business that asks for a quote or books a job. Our full company details are on the company and legal information page.
Your written quote and these terms together make up our agreement. Where your quote says something different about your job, the quote applies, but nothing in a quote or in these terms takes away a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
The short version
- We move your load on a dedicated vehicle with a driver. We are not a parcel courier. Our primary service is dedicated transport, giving your load exclusive use of the booked vehicle. Shared-load options may also be available by prior arrangement.
- Every job is priced individually and quoted in writing, and our quotes and invoices refer to these terms. Quotations are generally valid for seven days, subject to fuel-price adjustments, availability and any conditions stated in the quotation. Once a booking is confirmed, the price does not change unless the job changes.
- Local jobs are paid in full before we send the vehicle, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Long-distance jobs need a 75% deposit before we send the vehicle and 25% on delivery.
- We are not registered for VAT, so our prices carry no VAT.
- You can cancel. Cancelling 24 hours or more before the booked collection time costs nothing. See cancellations, rescheduling and refunds.
- Please read our responsibility for your goods before you accept a quote.
- Some goods we do not ordinarily transport, and any unusual, hazardous or specially regulated cargo is assessed and approved before we issue a quote: see goods we do not transport.
Important: our responsibility for your goods
Please read this section before you accept a quote or pay. It explains when our responsibility for your goods is limited and what you are responsible for. In short:
- Any limit on our liability for your goods is stated on your quote, which you see before you accept it and before you pay.
- No limit applies to loss or damage caused by our gross negligence, and we never limit or exclude our responsibility for death or personal injury.
- You are responsible for the results of dangerous goods you did not declare, to the extent the law allows.
- Check your goods at delivery and point out any visible damage to the driver before the driver leaves.
- We take reasonable care of your goods from when they are loaded onto our vehicle until they are delivered. If they are lost or damaged in that time through our fault, or the fault of anyone acting for us, we will pay the reasonable cost of repairing them or, if they cannot be repaired, their value, subject to any limit on your quote.
- Goods-in-transit cover is confirmed on each quote. Any limit on our liability for your goods is stated in writing on your quote, which you see before you accept it and before you pay. If your load is valuable, tell us its value before you book, so that we can confirm the cover and the limit that will apply. If a high-value load needs more cover than applies, we tell you before you book how it can be arranged.
- No limit applies to loss or damage caused by our gross negligence, or by the gross negligence of anyone acting for us or under our control. We never limit or exclude our responsibility for death or personal injury.
-
We are not responsible for loss or damage caused only by the following, unless our negligence caused it or added to it:
- the nature of the goods themselves, such as normal wear, rust, decay or a fault that existed before we collected them;
- packing, wrapping or securing inside boxes or containers that you did (packing is not part of our standard service);
- mechanical, electrical or internal faults in vehicles, machines and appliances;
- items left inside vehicles, furniture or containers that you did not tell us about;
- wrong or incomplete information you gave us about the load, including dangerous goods you did not declare.
- You are responsible for loss, damage, costs and fines that result from dangerous goods you did not declare, or from goods you gave us that the law does not allow to be transported, to the extent the law allows.
- Check your goods at delivery. Point out any visible damage to the driver before the driver leaves, and take photos. We take photographic proof of delivery after every job, and you can sign a delivery acknowledgement on request. For damage you could not see at delivery, tell us in writing as soon as you can, ideally within 7 days, with photos. A late report does not take away your rights, but it can make it harder to show what happened.
What we do
- We transport loads that do not fit a courier network and do not need a full-size truck: business stock and supplies, palletised goods (including palletised building materials such as bricks, tiles and cement), machinery, tools and equipment, automotive and industrial parts, documents and small urgent consignments, oversized or odd-shaped items, furniture and household goods, and vehicles.
- Dedicated transport and shared loads. Our primary service is dedicated transport, giving your load exclusive use of the booked vehicle. Shared-load options may also be available by prior arrangement, depending on the route, scheduling, available space and suitability of the goods. Your quote says which one you are booking.
- Our own vehicles are a Mahindra S4 bakkie (approximately 1,000 kg payload and a load bed of approximately 2.0 m × 1.5 m), a short-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz Vito enclosed van (approximately 1,200 kg stated payload) and a heavy-duty double-axle car trailer towed by the Mahindra S4, with a winch, loading ramps and securing straps. Payloads are approximate and confirmed for each job.
- The trailer. Our heavy-duty double-axle trailer has a gross trailer rating of 3,500 kg and a load deck measuring approximately 5.0 m × 2.0 m. The permitted cargo weight is confirmed for each job based on the trailer, towing vehicle, load distribution and applicable legal limits. The rating includes the trailer's own weight, and the legal load depends on the towing vehicle. It can take up to 8 standard 1.2 m × 1.0 m pallets, subject to weight, dimensions, load distribution and vehicle suitability.
- Loading and offloading. Our standard transport service includes a driver responsible for transporting and safely securing the load. Loading and offloading assistance can be arranged at an additional charge unless expressly included in the written quotation. Customers must inform us of any stairs, long carrying distances, difficult access or additional loading requirements when requesting a quotation. Where loading and offloading is included in your quotation, it means loading the goods onto the vehicle and offloading them from it; carrying items into or out of buildings, homes, offices or particular rooms is extra and must be arranged in advance.
- Packing is not included in our service, but may be arranged on request, subject to availability.
- Bigger loads in Gauteng. For bigger and heavier loads within Gauteng, we can arrange a 32-ton flatbed tri-axle truck with a Moffett through our trusted transport network, subject to availability and load suitability. A Moffett is a truck-mounted forklift. This truck is not one of our own vehicles and is not available outside Gauteng. If a network partner will carry your load, your quote says so.
- We specialise in dedicated transport rather than standard small-parcel courier services. We do not offer cross-border transport, livestock transport, specialised heavy haulage or loose bulk-material deliveries such as sand, gravel and stone. Palletised building materials may be transported subject to weight, dimensions and vehicle suitability.
Quotes and bookings
- Asking for a quote. Use our quote form, WhatsApp, phone or email. Tell us the full collection and delivery addresses, the date and time you would like the collection, what the load is (for a household move, a complete list of every item and how many of each; for other loads, the type of goods, the quantity, the approximate total weight and the dimensions), whether you need loading or offloading assistance, and anything about access. We price every request individually; no price is calculated automatically.
- Your quote. We send every quote in writing. Our quotes refer to these terms, including the liability provisions in our responsibility for your goods. Quotations are generally valid for seven days, subject to fuel-price adjustments, availability and any conditions stated in the quotation. If fuel prices or vehicle availability change before you accept a quotation, we send you an updated quotation in writing before you book. Your quote is based on the information you give us. If that information changes (for example the addresses, the load, the date or the access), we will send you an updated quote before the job goes ahead.
- Making the booking. A booking is made when you accept the quote in writing (by WhatsApp or email) or pay it, and we confirm the date in writing. Where payment is due before the job, the booking is secured once we receive payment or proof of payment. Please send proof of payment by WhatsApp or email before the scheduled collection time.
- Paying online. If we send you a payment link, the checkout shows a summary of what you are paying for. You can check it, correct mistakes or leave before you pay.
- Same-day and urgent jobs. There is no fixed same-day cut-off. We assess each request on the collection point, the destination, vehicle availability and urgency, and tell you whether we can do it.
- Long-distance jobs. Book in advance, ideally confirmed by about 18:00 the day before. This is a guideline, not a strict cut-off. Urgent long-distance requests are assessed individually.
- When the job is done. We do the job on the date or in the time window confirmed in your booking. If no date has been agreed, we will do it within 30 days of your order.
How prices work
- We price the whole trip: the vehicle travels from our base to the collection point, delivers your load and returns. Your quote reflects the total trip distance, tolls, access, time and any special requirements. We do not add a surcharge just because an area is outside a particular suburb. Remote or difficult-to-reach places may cost more.
- Your quote shows the full price for the job as you described it, including every charge we know about when we quote.
- Depending on the job, these may be part of your quote: waiting time; after-hours collections or deliveries; weekends and public holidays; toll roads; loading and offloading assistance, unless it is included in your quotation; stairs, difficult access or long carrying distances; extra stops; overnight accommodation; special equipment or handling; and changes to the agreed load or to the collection or delivery arrangements.
- Waiting time. The first 30 minutes of waiting time are free, with additional waiting charges applying where relevant, at the rate stated on your quote. Waiting time includes delays caused by access problems at either address, waiting for payment, or the load not being ready.
- Changes on the day. If the job changes on the day (for example an extra stop, a bigger load, extra items or a change of address), we will tell you the extra cost and ask you to agree before we do the extra work; the extra cost is payable before loading. If you do not agree, you can keep to the original job or cancel; see cancellations, rescheduling and refunds.
- Before you accept: quotations are generally valid for seven days, subject to fuel-price adjustments, availability and any conditions stated in the quotation. Once a booking is confirmed, we will not raise the price unless the job itself changes.
Payment
- We prefer payment by EFT. Cash is possible by prior arrangement. If we send you a payment link, you can pay by the methods shown on the secure checkout page.
- Local jobs: paid in full, or proof of payment sent by WhatsApp or email, before we send the vehicle, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. Where we have specifically agreed it, a balance can be paid on delivery before the driver leaves.
- Long-distance jobs: a 75% deposit before we send the vehicle, and the remaining 25% on delivery.
- Business accounts: approved businesses pay on an agreed monthly statement date. See business customers.
- Card and instant-EFT payments made through a payment link are processed by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number. We will never ask for your card details, PIN or banking passwords by phone, WhatsApp or email. If you receive a message asking you to pay into different bank details, phone us on the number on this website before you pay.
- We are not registered for VAT, so we do not charge VAT and our invoices are not tax invoices.
What we need from you
- An accurate description of the load: a complete and accurate list of the items, or what the load is, how many items, the approximate size and weight, and its value if it is high. We collect and deliver the items listed and quoted for. If the load turns out bigger, heavier or different, or includes items that were not on the list you gave us, we will tell you the extra cost before we carry it. If it cannot be carried safely or legally on the vehicle we sent, we may decline it; see cancellations, rescheduling and refunds.
- Existing damage and fragile items: tell us about any existing damage and any fragile items before loading, and point out existing damage to the driver at collection.
- Access: safe and legal access for the vehicle at both the collection and delivery points, somewhere the vehicle can legally stop, any permission needed to enter (for example at an estate, complex or site), and someone at each address to hand over and receive the load. Tell us about stairs, lifts, narrow access or long carrying distances when you ask for a quote.
- Packing: unless we have agreed to arrange packing, pack fragile items and loose contents so that they can travel safely, and remove cash, jewellery and personal valuables from furniture and vehicles.
- Loading: if your quote does not include loading or offloading assistance, please arrange people to load and offload. Our driver secures the load on the vehicle.
- Dangerous goods: declare gas cylinders, flammable liquids such as paint and thinners, chemicals, batteries and any other hazardous goods when you ask for a quote, so that we can assess them before we quote. We may refuse goods that were not declared. See goods we do not transport and dangerous goods and prohibited items.
- The right to move the goods: you must own the goods or have the owner's permission to have them moved.
Goods we do not transport
We do not ordinarily transport:
- fuels and other regulated dangerous goods;
- firearms, ammunition or explosives;
- refrigerated or frozen goods that need temperature-controlled transport;
- hazardous waste;
- livestock or live animals;
- loose bulk materials such as sand, gravel and stone;
- illegal or prohibited goods.
Any unusual, hazardous or specially regulated cargo is assessed and approved before a quote is issued. We accept hazardous, unusual or regulated goods only where transporting them is legally permitted, operationally suitable and approved by us in writing. Declaring hazardous or regulated goods does not guarantee that we can transport them. Acceptance is subject to applicable transport regulations, vehicle suitability, insurance requirements and written approval from Load & Go Logistics. The full list, with examples, is on dangerous goods and prohibited items.
Vehicles, machines and equipment
- We carry running and non-running vehicles, and certain generators, compact machinery and smaller Bobcats, on our heavy-duty car trailer with a winch and ramps, towed by our Mahindra S4. It is a car trailer, not a tow truck.
- Give us the make and model when you ask for a quote. The weight we can carry depends on the vehicle-and-trailer combination, how the load is distributed and the legal limits, so we confirm it for each job.
- Tell us whether the vehicle runs, whether it rolls, steers and brakes, and about any fluid leaks. Remove personal items and loose parts, and give us the keys if the vehicle needs to be moved.
- Please photograph the vehicle or machine before collection. Point out existing damage to the driver at collection. We photograph it at delivery as proof of delivery.
- If, when we arrive, the vehicle or machine is heavier, bigger or in a different condition from what you told us, and it cannot be loaded safely or legally, we will not load it. You then pay only the reasonable cost of the trip made, as set out in our cancellations, rescheduling and refunds policy.
Delays and problems on our side
- If an unavoidable delay comes up, we will tell you as soon as we know about it.
- If we cannot do the job on the confirmed date because of a problem on our side (for example a vehicle breakdown), you choose: a new date, or a full refund of what you paid for that job.
- If our service falls short of what was agreed, tell us. We will put it right where we can, or refund a fair part of the price, depending on how far the service fell short.
Cancelling or changing a booking
You can cancel or reschedule a booking. Cancelling or rescheduling 24 hours or more before the booked collection time costs nothing. A later cancellation may carry a reasonable, justifiable charge for costs we have already incurred or cannot reasonably recover, rather than a fixed cancellation percentage, and there is never a cancellation fee if you cannot keep the booking because of the death or hospitalisation of the person it was made for. The full rules are in our cancellations, rescheduling and refunds policy.
The 7-day cooling-off right in section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act does not apply to transport services booked for a specific date or period (section 42(2)(j)). Your right to cancel an advance booking under section 17 of the Consumer Protection Act still applies.
Ownership of the goods and when our responsibility ends
Your goods stay yours while we transport them. We never become the owner of goods we carry. Our responsibility for your goods ends, and the risk passes back to you, once they have been offloaded at the agreed drop-off point, as set out in our responsibility for your goods.
Records
We send your quote, booking confirmation and invoice in writing by email or WhatsApp. Our quotes and invoices refer to these terms, including the liability provisions. Keep them as your record. We keep our records of each job, including invoices and payment records, for as long as the law requires; for accounting records this is seven years under the Companies Act. You can ask us for a copy at any time.
Business customers
- Which laws apply. The Consumer Protection Act does not apply to a business customer that is a juristic person (for example a company or close corporation) whose asset value or annual turnover is at or above the threshold set by the Minister under section 6 of that Act. If the Act applies to your business, nothing in these terms limits your rights under it. The consumer protections in Chapter VII of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act apply only to natural persons.
- Monthly accounts. Approved businesses can apply for a monthly account, paid on an agreed monthly statement date rather than a set number of days after each invoice. Approval depends on the business, the expected transport volume, creditworthiness and the payment terms agreed. Credit limits and any minimum monthly spend are assessed individually. A credit check is done only with your consent. The account terms are agreed in writing.
- Scheduled and dedicated transport. On request, and subject to vehicle availability, we can set up daily or weekly scheduled deliveries, recurring collection and delivery runs, a dedicated vehicle and driver, and short-term or longer-term transport arrangements for businesses. The price depends on the route distances, the vehicle, the frequency, the cargo, the working hours and the loading and offloading needed. The duration, notice period and price of each arrangement are agreed in writing before it starts.
- Fixed-term arrangements with individuals. If you are a natural person (including a sole proprietor) and agree a fixed-term arrangement with us, the Consumer Protection Act applies: the term may not be longer than 24 months unless a longer term is expressly agreed and gives you a demonstrable financial benefit, and you may cancel at any time on 20 business days' written notice. You then pay for work already done and any reasonable cancellation penalty the Act allows. These rules do not apply where both parties are juristic persons.
Complaints and disputes
Please tell us first, by email to info@loadandgo.co.za or on WhatsApp at 067 419 3563, with your quote or booking details. We will work with you to resolve it fairly.
If we cannot resolve it, you can use any route the Consumer Protection Act gives you, including an ombud with jurisdiction, the consumer court of your province, an alternative dispute resolution agent or the National Consumer Commission. These terms are governed by South African law. We will not require a consumer to go to arbitration.
Your personal information
We use your personal information to quote and do your job, as explained in our privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future bookings. A booking that is already confirmed stays on the terms that applied when it was confirmed, unless you agree to a change in writing.
